New Graduate Practitioner Membership
Supporting you as you step into professional herbal practice
Recently qualified herbal practitioners may apply for New Graduate Practitioner Membership within 12 months of completing an eligible professional herbal medicine qualification.
New Graduate Practitioner applicants must meet the same education, professional insurance, ethical and practice requirements as all Qualified Practitioner applicants.

The amount you pay depends on whether you were a URHP Student Member before qualifying.
You may qualify for the student-to-practitioner transition if you apply within 12 months of qualification and:
- You have been a URHP Student Member for at least 12 months before qualifying
- Your Student Membership is still valid when you apply
Once your application has been approved, you will receive complimentary Qualified Practitioner Membership until the next annual renewal date in April.
| Example: If your application is approved in October, your complimentary membership will run until 31 March of the following year. |
| First full year of Qualified Practitioner Membership | £50 |
If you apply within 12 months of qualification, you may still receive the reduced new-graduate rate even if you were not a URHP Student Member by paying one-off joining fee as follows:
| Fee item | Amount |
| First-year membership fee | £50 |
| One-off joining fee | £35 |
| Total payable | £85 |
Review the Qualified Practitioner Membership requirements before completing your application.
| Important: Please do not pay any membership fees until your application has been approved and you have received payment instructions from the URHP. |
Contact the Registrar if you have any questions or are unsure whether your qualifications meet URHP requirements. We will be pleased to guide you before you submit your application.
