The comprehensive course to become a registered Junior Herbalist Leader will be taught over 5 consecutive days (12th – 16th July 2021 inclusive) in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire.
The cost of the 5-day intensive training course to become a registered Junior Herbalist Leader is £995. For this fee you will receive:
5 full days tuition
Teaching manual containing structured classes to teach both years one and two, including worksheets and answers, class plans, equipment lists, key facts, Health and Safety Assessments.
Ongoing support
A qualification allowing you to advertise yourself as a ‘Registered Junior Herbalist Leader’
Payment by instalments can be arranged. Registered leaders can expect to earn their initial tuition fee back within the first year of teaching.
Number of attendees strictly limited. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. A limited number of remote places are available for those unable to attend in person. All applications must be received no later than 18th June 2021.

The conference moved online in 2020 and the event has been a huge success with over 1500 attendees from over 30 countries and amazing speakers from all over the world. This annual event compliments our fabulous in-person event, the Power of Plants Festival.

Phil and Joy are both practising herbalists with backgrounds in conventional medicine. Together they share years of experience and understand how confusing and challenging clinical examination skills can often seem. In these four immersive all-day workshop sessions they will present relevant clinical skills in a clear and simple way so that you can turn theory into practice with confidence and assurance.
Following a walkthrough demonstration of each system being studied (courtesy of a live ‘patient’) there will be smaller group sessions working together in pairs to practise and experience the techniques just observed.
All sessions are held in person at Nether Edge Herbarium in Sheffield. Group numbers are limited to twelve learners each day and all sessions are bookable separately.
As promised, the EHTPA has announced a new Zoom webinar on Red Flags and Emergencies in Clinical Practice that will take place on Saturday 9th March from 10.00 am to 12.15 pm. This important CPD and learning resource will be of practical use to both students and practising herbalists. During his presentation, Dr Edward Thompson will guide you through the crucial understanding of identifying signs and symptoms that may be red flags and emergencies, and where a patient needs to be referred for emergency or urgent medical investigation or treatment. There will be a 30 minute Q&A with Edward after the event.
The event is free to all members of URHP, including students, so we encourage you all to attend. In any case, the webinar will be recorded and made available for subsequent viewing via the EHTPA website.

We are both practising herbalists with backgrounds in conventional medicine. Phil has worked as a GP and Joy has a wide experience of hospital nursing practice and is a trained educator and mentor.
Together we share years of experience and understand how confusing and challenging clinical examination skills can often seem. Our aim is to present relevant clinical skills in a clear and simple way so that you can turn theory into practice with confidence and assurance.
For our second clinical skills empowerment weekend we are doing something a little different this time – Phil & Joy do Pick and Mix!
In two full days we will cover absolutely any clinical skill sets you might want to know about in line with the curriculum requirements of all accredited herbal training programmes. Around a week before the sessions we will ask you for your subject preferences for the day, and at the start of the sessions we will present everyone’s choices for discussion so that our attendees get to create the planned programme – including the bits that are important for their own individual learning needs.
